For a few years now, I've had my own homemade dog treat business. It's always been fun making them while I know that one dog or another will enjoy them. It has been weird making them lately since my dog, Bella, passed away back in June this year. It was heartbreaking and wish things could have went another way, but life continues on.
I'm still making the treats and I'm happy that those canines are enjoying them as much as they can. I will always remember when I gave my dog the odd ones that were either too wonky or if it just didn't make a full Dozen. She always enjoyed it as well and I could tell. I know that the dogs that my relatives own, who purchase from me, enjoy the treats as well.
I couldn't express enough gratitude for everyone who purchased from me in the beginning and who has continued to, to this day. I try to keep that little bit of income that I receive from it, to the side and stashed to either pay for more materials for the treats or to purchase something that I've been keeping my eye on (or even presents for a later date).
Having this little business has been such a great opportunity for me and I'm glad that I had finally went and started. I'm thinking about the possibility of making cat treats, but that's something that I'll have to look more into. They seem to be a little more complicated as the treats would have to be much smaller compared to the dog treats, but it also requires other ingredients. It's definitely an idea and I can't wait to find more out about it too. I'm just looking for more opportunities to reach out to my community as well.
I've created a Facebook page and also an Instagram profile to hopefully reach out to more people but also to keep people informed that are interested in them. I hope that in the future this could become something, but in the mean time, it's just a small circle that I reach out to and I'm happy with that. I'm just glad that people are interested and that I'm even getting the orders that I am. I wouldn't ask for more right now.
